Corrosion protection for the inner surfaces of condensate sand filter tanks

Surface Preparation

Decontamination of the substrate to remove dirt, oils, grease, and salts. Surface preparation in accordance with ISO 8501-1 to a cleanliness level of Sa 2½.

Applications of Materials

Products used:
POLYGLASS PPA, CORROFILL VE
CORROGLASS LR 600 + QUADRAXIAL FIBER MAT 600 g/m²
POLYGLASS VEF

Coating systems applied:
1,200 μm DFT without lamination, 1,900–2,000 μm DFT with lamination

Substrate treated:
Interior surface of two condensate sand filter tanks, carbon steel, 107 m²

Treatments:

• Decontamination of the substrate to remove dirt, oils, grease, and salts
• Surface preparation in accordance with ISO 8501-1, cleanliness grade Sa 2.5
• Application of POLYGLASS PPA Primer
• Repair of Defective Areas Using CORROFILL VE
• Application of the LR 600 Laminating Layer + 600 g/m² Glass Fiber Mesh
• Application of two anti-corrosion coats of POLYGLASS VEF coating material
• Conducting the relevant quality tests in accordance with PKZ
