Hempel’s Thinner 08080
HEMPEL coatings are manufactured and supplied in such a way that, under normal conditions, they do not need to be thinned, provided they are mixed in the correct proportions and thoroughly stirred. However, if the coating is to be applied in a thin film (for example, as a “primer”) or if the coating has become too thick, e.g., in cold weather, HEMPEL THINNER, as specified in the data sheet, may be added to achieve a consistency more suitable for application.
As a general rule, dilution should be kept to a minimum so that the quality of the coating is not compromised by excessive dilution. However, if the coating is applied at high temperatures (air and/or steel), it may be necessary in these exceptional situations to dilute the coating beyond the limits specified in the product data sheets to prevent dry spraying and poor film formation.
HEMPEL thinners are formulated to ensure optimal results for specific application methods, such as brushing, spraying, etc. In some cases, the original thinners can be replaced with others. However, since these products are beyond our control, we assume no responsibility for the results obtained.
HEMPEL's high-quality coatings help protect the most valuable buildings and facilities around the world. Whatever project you're tackling, you need to choose the right coating. One that will deliver the performance and long-term protection you need, have minimal impact on the environment, and help make your application as safe as possible. The quality management of HEMPEL products complies with ISO, NORSOK, OHSAS standards as well as local regulations.
