A Look Back at Technology Days 2026
From May 27 to 29, 2026, the CorroTech Engineering campus in Komořany came alive with the second annual Technology Days event. This year’s event was exceptional for us—over 100 experts and business partners visited us over the course of three days.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the time you spent with us, for the wonderful atmosphere, and for the many inspiring discussions. We are pleased that in-person meetings combined with live technology demonstrations are so beneficial to your practice. The entire program was divided into specialized technical stations, where hands-on demonstrations were accompanied by expert commentary.
Overview of the Technologies and Stations on Display
If you weren’t able to attend our Technology Days, or if you’d simply like to revisit specific technological solutions, here’s a detailed overview of what was on display at the event:
1. Surface Preparation Check and Inspection Activities
Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of long-term corrosion resistance. At this station, we focused on assessing the condition of steel structures prior to the application of coatings in accordance with ISO 12944. Participants had the opportunity to try out modern inspection equipment for measuring surface roughness, detecting salt contamination, and using digital thickness gauges to check the dry film thickness of coatings, among other things.
2. Sponge-Jet Dust-Free Technologies
At our new booth, we gave a detailed demonstration of the revolutionary Sponge-Jet technology, which represents the world’s leading solution in the field of dry, dust-free surface cleaning. Attendees were able to see not only robotic blasting in action, but above all the unique Sponge Media composite abrasive. Thanks to its sponge-like microencapsulation, this technology absorbs up to 95% of dust and emissions, minimizes abrasive rebound, and significantly improves workplace safety.
3. Mechanical Preparation and Gentle Blasting with IBIX & Bristle Blaster
For facilities and locations where conventional large-scale blasting units cannot be used, we have introduced a mobile and highly efficient solution. Bristle Blaster technology has demonstrated how a purely mechanical method (using a special rotating brush) can achieve a cleanliness level of Sa 2½ to Sa 3 and create a surface profile comparable to that of conventional blasting. The lightweight, mobile IBIX system then demonstrated its versatility in fine blasting with soda and garnet, ideal for cleaning sensitive surfaces.
4. Mobile Technology and Compressed Air Treatment
At this booth, we showcased mobile equipment for ensuring cleanliness, filtration, and operational safety: a mobile vacuum unit, abrasive recycling systems, and filtration units for air purification and VOC extraction. We also demonstrated proper compressed air preparation and moisture removal.
5. High-pressure water jet
At this booth, together with a representative from Falch, we demonstrated the power of water at various pressure levels. Systems up to 500 bar showed excellent effectiveness in removing grease, salt, algae, and loose old coatings. For extremely demanding applications, we demonstrated an ultra-high-pressure water jet with a pressure of up to 2,500 bar, which perfectly prepares the surface without generating any dust.
6. Comparative Tests of Abrasive Materials
At the last station, we compared how the choice of abrasive affects work speed, consumption, and the resulting surface anchor profile. Participants were able to observe the direct differences between sharp-edged metal grit, silica sand, eco-friendly mineral olivine (combined with a dust-suppressing water curtain), blast furnace slag, and high-cutting Australian garnet.
